1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum amount of personally identifiable information (PII) required to conduct business:

Account Data: Name and email address provided during registration.

Inventory Data: Data you upload regarding parts, inventory levels, including descriptions, quantities, and scanned code data.

Usage Data: Technical information such as IP address, device type, operating system, and app version collected when you use the ShelfExact mobile or web app to maintain your session and secure the service.

Photos: At your discretion, photos are taken using the app's camera feature and uploaded to your inventory database.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information strictly to provide, maintain, and improve the ShelfExact service, and to communicate with you regarding account updates or support requests.

3. Data Storage and Third Parties

3.1 United States Storage: All your data is stored on servers located within the United States using third-party Cloud Providers. (e.g. AWS, Supabase, and/or Google Cloud)

3.2 Payment Processing: All financial transactions are handled by Stripe.com. We do not store or see your credit card information.

3.3 No Sale of Data: We do not share, sell, or trade your personal information or inventory data with 3rd party advertisers or data brokers.

3.4 Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law.

4. Device Storage and Tracking

The mobile app stores your sign-in session securely on your device so you remain logged in between visits. We do not use advertising trackers, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking in the mobile app. The web app may use essential session cookies for the same purpose.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal and inventory data, including uploaded photos, for as long as your account is active. Photos are retained until you delete them from the system. When you delete your account in the app, we remove your sign-in access, organization memberships, inventory data, and uploaded photos associated with organizations you solely own. If you are a member of a shared organization, we remove your personal account data while preserving the organization's inventory records for other members.

6. Security

We employ industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect data in transit. However, you acknowledge that no internet-based service is entirely "hack-proof".

8. INTERNATIONAL DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS

We acknowledge that users in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore may have specific rights regarding their Personal Data under local laws (e.g., UK GDPR, PIPEDA, Privacy Act 1988). These rights typically include the right to access, correct, update, or request deletion of your personal data (Name and Email). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 7. By using the ShelfExact service, you acknowledge that your personal information will be transferred to, and processed in, the United States, and you consent to such transfer.
